Well its been a long time since we last updated this but thought we'd let you all know whats going on...Currently Kat and I are living up in Anchorage, AK. and just trying to learn to adjust to the weather, what I would call my first winter. Kat is up here working on her Master's degree in Poetry in what truly can be called the most inspiring of settings. Most mornings are spent waiting at our window with coffee in hand watching the Chugach Mtns. that are just behind our house...Anchorage is a strange place.
Beauty and ugliness. I find the winter gets me down as the little light that the city does get comes late and leaves early, that is, if its not clouded over as it is today...the current report is 5 below with light snow and mist.
Currently I'm working for an airline and so have had the chance to escape the cold now and again and see alot of the country; although other times we head up north to places above the arctic circle which make Anchorage seem a more tropical region than you would otherwise believe. All in all things are good right now as we are waiting for summer....
We haven't performed in a long while as my two years of performing in San Francisco left me kind of dry. Only recently have I started working on some new songs which I hope to be able to record in 2006. The next record will be a more stripped down home-style recording. I've been listening to a lot of Bonnie Prince Billy and am enamored by the Oldham family approach of keeping quality high, home and bare.
I recently got into the whole myspace phenomena and have put a link up on the homepage to our site, www.myspace.com/deadbirdsongs
I've put up some new pictures of us and our alaskan adventure and will try to keep adding some new songs for you to hear from our seemingly never ending collection of live recordings. Please feel free to send me friend requests, drop emails etc...I love seeing and hearing what people are doing around the country...
Well its time for that cup of coffee even though the ice-fog has veiled our view of the mountains.

This past weekend the music of Eric Moore was featured in the documentary entitled, "Border Echoes," which premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Five years in the making, the film investigates the horrific series of unsolved murders of young women in Juarez, Mexico. Hey everyone, just writing to let you know that we moved to Portland, Oregon a couple of weeks ago. Haven't played any shows in a while but that should change as we come into November and December. Portland is an amazing city from everything we've seen so far. Its people, culture and scenery are overwhelming. For the next couple of months I will be back and forth throughout the northwest and california, and so please drop me a line through the website to say hello...Also...next month I will begin selling Dead Bird Songs online here as well as in local music stores throughout the Portland, and hopefully, San Francisco area. The cd is a 10 song studio album that we put together over the course of the last year and was just delivered last week. It contains all new renditions of songs from the demo as well as a number of new tracks that enlist the help of Kat Hash and Winter. I will very soon be putting new samples up on this site so please keep checking back...I'm sorry that we didn't get more time to say goodbye to everyone in S.F. you are all an amazing group of people and I promise you I'll be back soon enough...talk to the Jonah Kit or John Swerdan for details on that! The old mailing list is still there and will not be dropped but please also email me through this site so that I can add your names to the more updated list.
